Imagine stepping through the doors of the newest sportsmen's shop to find the ultimate outdoor Sportsmen’sparadise.... Then you probably just walked through the doors of Shooters Sporting Center. You notice the signs for "indoor ranges" and realize that not only can you buy the best in sporting equipment, but you now have a safe, fully enclosed area to develop your shooting skills.
The visions and dreams of Tom Gormley and George Kurtz to build this paradise for the outdoor sportsmen are currently in the planning stages. Banking on the achievements that both have obtained in their respective careers, their love for the outdoors and the proven success of Tip's Hardware, both are eager to bring this plan to fruition. Since Tom took over Tip's Hardware in 1999, he has seen "a little local hardware store" grow into one of the premier outdoor shops in the area. Known less now for the hardware side of the business, it is Tom and his staff's dedication to customer service that has turned this small store in West Creek, NJ into one of the foremost shopping locations for New Jersey hunters and anglers.
With a larger space, more selection, indoor shooting ranges and classroom space, Tom and George are certain that Shooters Sporting Center will become the paradise they have planned. The property for this paradise is located on a 23-acre tract of land located just off the Garden State Parkway at
Exit 58, with easy access for both north and southbound traffic. This area is on the outskirts of the New Jersey Pinelands, an area known for great hunting. It is also located less than five miles from prime back bays and offshore fishing areas. The location of the property will provide ultimate visibility and plenty of space for future expansion.
Our mission at Shooters is to provide an Sportsman's Paradise, a destination completely unlike your typical outdoor retail store, a full service destination providing an interactive environment to assist our customers in their outdoor pursuits. Shooters Sporting Center will provide Anglers and Hunters alike with the equipment that they want, the knowledge that they need, and experiences that make them want to come back. An old and familiar Chinese proverb states "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." This same proverb also applies to hunting. We want to provide this service to each of our customers.
Our vision is to continue and expand on the 10 plus years of success experienced at Tip's Hardware, while maintaining the high level of customer service that has made us into one of the premier outdoor retailers in the area. Additionally, with the inclusion of indoor archery and firearm ranges, we will provide a valuable service that is unique to this area.
The "original" Tip's Hardware was established in 1954 by Stanley "Tip" Seaman, a former Ocean County Freeholder. With the passing of Tip in 1989, his son, Stanley "Bud" Seaman continued in his father's footsteps. Upon Bud's death in 1999, the store was turned over to the "next generation", Tom Gormley. Tom ultimately decided to continue Bud's Dream and expand the hardware store to include outdoor gear to meet the needs of the area. This addition and Tom's commitment to outstanding customer service have made Tip's into the premier outdoor retailer in the area.
