Defensive Pistol 1

Course Cost: $180 + NJ State Tax

DP 1 is an intense, fast paced, and challenging course with an emphasis on skill mastery, not just becoming proficient.  With the exception of a preliminary discussion about gear placement and legal issues, the courses are all range work.  Students are progressed from basic to advanced pistol handling skills through range demonstrations, dry fire drills, and live fire practice... all emphasizing deployment from a concealed location.  DP 1 is an entry level personal protection course but it is far from basic.  This is not a beginners course... it is essential that each student have a knowledge of their pistols nomenclature and the ability to group shots inside a paper plate at 7 yards (basic proficiency means you will benefit more from the class).  Emphasis in this 8 hour course is on firearm safety, the fundamentals of defensive marksmanship, and shooting from primarily a static location.

Defensive Shotgun

Course Cost: $135 + NJ State Tax

DS teaches the proper use of a shotgun as a defensive tool.  This live fire only course (minimal classroom) cover a wide variety of topics including shooting from cover, emergency reloads, front sight index, engaging multiple targets, proper ammunition for personal defense, accessories for your defensive shotgun, and more. • Gear selection and placement
  • Personal defense ammunition
  • Proper hold and stance
  • Fundamentals of defensive marksmanship
  • Emergency reloads
